Picasa for Linux

Picasa is Google's photo organizer. It makes it easy to find, edit, and share digital photos. It automatically locates and remembers all pictures and sorts them into visual albums organized by date with recognizable folder names. You can drag and drop to arrange albums and make labels to create new groups. This Linux version mostly has the same features as the Windows version, and is based on a modified version of Wine.

Release Notes: This is the first release of Picasa for Linux, in English only. It does not (yet) support Google's Hello photo-messaging, CD burning, backup, or exporting to TiVo.

The Linux version is up to 3.0.57.44 by now (wohoo!). Grab it from the repositories.

Any plans for an update?
I saw that the windows version of Picasa is getting updated once in a while and has progressed to something named 2.7.37.32, yet the Linux version is still stuck at the original public release 2.2.2820-5.

Are there any plans for bringing updates to the Linux version, especially since it's built on Wine anyway?
