LogicalDOC is a Web-based document management system that is easy to use and learn. Its architecture leverages best-of-breed Java technology to achieve a powerful and flexible solution. It supports its users with a powerful search engine (Lucene), Web service interface (JAX-WS via CXF) compatible with .NET and PHP, versioning, annotation on documents, a WebDAV interface, importing and exporting from .zip files. Documents can be organized into hierarchical folders, searched using the integrated search engine, or browsed by Tag. The system is extensible thanks to the technologies used (Spring-Hibernate) and its plugin architecture.

Release Notes: Web services were decoupled from the core API. Every change to the title of a document is now reflected in the file name. A bug where search in folder was broken for the admin account was fixed.

Release Notes: The user interface was upgraded. A new Boolean extended attribute type was added. Full text search in WebService was fixed along with an inability to update preset attributes via WebSevices, an error in statistical graphs, and incorrect page order in the preview.

Release Notes: A customizable user dashboard was added. Performance when deleting massive folders and when previewing multi-page documents was improved. Support for the Swedish language was added. The Flash used to display the Repository Statistics and the Tag Cloud were replaced with JavaScript components.

Release Notes: There is an implementation of the CMIS 1.0 AtomPub protocol. The options 'case sensitive' and 'search for aliases' in parametric search have been added. Asynchronous folder deletion has been added. Bugs fixed: an export to zip issue; non-admin users having problems accessing WebDAV; an incorrect error message when changing a password; and an error creating a document in a folder with Metadata.

Release Notes: This release includes the first prototypal server implementation of the CMIS 1.0 AtomPub specifications. It also provided extended attributes in the documents grid, restore of drag and drop on documents and folders, fixed the final step of Web setup, fixed a problem where connections through WebDAV showed an empty folder when the IP blacklist was enabled, and corrected log exceptions caused by IndexOptimixer.

After extensive testing i can say that LogicalDOC is a application stable and performant, also with respect to other applications written in Java is quite thrifty in the use of the memory.
Wonderful project! Thanks for amazing work!

The download and installation went well and without problems.
I tested various DMS up until now, and LogicalDOC is truly impressive in terms of functionality, stability, flexibility, and documentation.
Since it is based on Java, may require more resources than a PHP solution, but in general, I prefer it over other DMS solutions that i know.

Re: Installs like a breeze
I agree, it was a breeze and I have really enjoyed working with the product. I like the fact that I can use PostgreSQL with the software!

Installs like a breeze
LogicalDOC installs like a breeze. Of course, you need to have Tomcat working already to use this. Installing Tomcat is not rocket science, though. But installing the provided war file was easy and it was running in ten minutes or less.
